A METAPHOR FOR A EUROPEAN CULTURAL CAPITAL?…
An interesting new exhibition area has opened in the central bank that was reborn in 2009 as the MUDE museum of fashion and design, Lisbon. In the gala opening, held in the onetime vault of safe-deposit boxes, 500 of the 3,500 boxes had been replaced with transparent plastic display cases that contained a most unusual inaugural expo: hundreds of types of agricultural seeds. Was this some new form of environmental art, or a metaphor for Lisbon 'sowing the seeds of culture' ?
