THE EU IS A WONDERFUL THING… BUT PERHAPS NOT FOR CULTURAL WORKERS…

The European federations representing cultural and creative workers (musicians, actors, technicians, journalists, screenwriters, directors, etc.) are concerned about the ongoing problem of the application of EU competition rules to cultural workers who work on a freelance basis. This is an important issue that affects the fundamental rights of cultural and creative workers. To this end these Federations have drawn up a strong common position and call for action on this issue and have submitted it jointly to the Commissioners for Competition, Employment, Culture and Internal Market, as well as to the European Parliament.
