At its General Assembly, hold in Nicosia, Cyprus in May 2010, and in response to the Green Paper “Unlocking the potential of cultural and creative industries” published by the European Commission, the member theatres of the European Theatre Convention ask the European Parliament to join forces in a structured partnership to the benefit for the society and citizens of Europe to access the immense wealth theatre art creates in each country. The ETC member theatres ask the members of the European Parliament to co-sign this resolution to show their support for the well-being of the European citizens. National public authority bodies are also invited to co-sign this resolution.
