MEANWHILE, BACK IN OREGON…

The Center for Community Arts and Cultural Policy is partnering with the American for the Arts (AFTA), the City of Eugene, and the Arts and Business Alliance of Eugene (ABAE) in developing an economic impact study of the arts in the local Eugene community (in Oregon, USA). After an application process, Eugene was selected in 2010 to be included in the Arts & Economic Prosperity IV study. According to AFTA, this study is used to demonstrate that the nonprofit arts and culture industry is an economic driver in communities, and is a growth industry that supports jobs, generates government revenue, and is the cornerstone of tourism.
