French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand has announced a 2.1 per cent increase in the culture budget in France . Priority will be given to cultural industries. "With nearly 7.5 billion euros in credits, the budget culture and communication in 2011 is up 2.1% compared with 2010 (154 million)", announced M. Mitterrand, on Wednesday, 29 September 2011.
As noted in a previous issues, the European Commission is undertaking a public consultation on the future of the Culture programme from 2014.
